You give a R2m home loan, but decline a 120k personal loan for senseless reason?

FNB, I am very disappointed. I app**** for a R 120,000.00 personal loan to cover the shortfall of the bond loan of 2.05m you have just approved, and you decline me because of the way my salary is paid into my bank account? Your branch has provisionally approved it, but now it comes back declined!

If I had too much debt, I could understand. If my credit record was tarnished, I could understand, but because my salary is paid by direct transfer and not via cheque or cash deposit? Seriously? SRSLY!? You have just given me a R2.05m home loan, and that was not a problem then. But for a R 120,000.00 personal loan it is a problem? You are jeopardizing the entire house purchase because of the fact that my salary is paid by direct transfer? What the...?

So - because my salary is transferred directly from my business account to my personal account via FNB internet banking, as both accounts are with FNB, you will risk losing NOT ONLY the 28% interest you could've gotten from the personal loan, but also lose the 20 years of lucrative income from the home loan that ads up to 2.5 times the purchase price of the home.

I have been a loyal FNB client since my business was founded in 2012. You can see how my business and my salary has grown from strength to strength. You are threatening this relationship with such a petty decision. But then again, does it matter? I am just a number on your books. If I get declined for a nonsense reason such as this, then I see no further reason banking with FNB, and besides losing my income you would gain from the loans, you will also lose my business and personal banking business. I need someone with authority to contact me back for a resolution.

And do not tell me to phone ***or any other FNB number for that matter. I need someone with authority at FNB to contact me so this can be resolved. I refuse to be transferred from one person to another and not getting anywhere.

So, I get an SMS stating that you failed to contact me. Nonsense. I have been sitting quietly at my desk, where I have great signal, and my phone was on, and with me at all times, and I have no missed calls. I am not phoning you back. You can phone me again. Besides, how am I to phone you back on the details above in the "Official business reply"? All I see are stars.

No worries; I managed to obtain the funds elsewhere to pay for the bond shortfall. I do not need this loan from you anymore anyway. It is amazing what kinds of plans you can make if you're really pushed into a corner.
