Wrong information given by consultant.

I went to the bank to open 3 FNBy savings accounts for my 3 sons. I knew from the website that the accounts earn interest. The consultant told me that i couldn't open those accounts for my kids because the don't earn interest and the only account I could open was a 32day notice account. On top of that she emphasized that a minimum of R1000 was required to open the account. She then said I could do the transfer wen I got home. I tried transferring without success, when I researched on the website it said the minimum required was R5000. And i also confirmed on the website that the FNBy savings account does earn interest! So I'm back at the FNB branch in lambton to close the 32day notice accounts and open the FNBy accounts. Now apparently they cant close them because the consultant who opened them works at another branch. I complained to the manager about the false information I was given and all he could say was "I dont know why she would give you wrong information" and that was it.

I've been a loyal FNB client for more than 10 yrs but I'm disappointed with the Lambton branch consultant who gave me the wrong information along with the manager.
