Wrong info now legal implications
I'm writing this on behalf of my husbands account with FNB. He had lost his job in December 2015 and was forced to stop paying his debts as the was no income.
He contacted FNB private banker as this is his primary bank and explained the issue. They told him to stop his debit orders.
He tried reaching out several times once he found employment as he wanted to make arrangements on the debt.
He was told he needs to pay a specific minimum amount however it's physically impossible as his earnings won't cover it. He has requested to a manager and even went into the bank to discuss options. He keeps being told someone will get back to him. Noone is contactin him and now he has been handed over.
We are going to log a complaint with the ombudsman as this is unacceptable. He has been trying for a long time to come to some sort of agreement to start the process of repayment however noone wants to help him
