WORST SHORT TERM INSURANCE EVER!!!

In October 2024, my water bill came to R10k. I checked the water meter and it was constantly running without any taps etc running. I reported this to the FNB Building Insurance. They then handed my claim over to CLC. This company which provides services their insurance. They elected Plumber 1. They carried out Audio leak detection. Found something, fixed it, but this did not stop the meter from running. Elected Plumber 2 to carry out Gas leak detection. Found something, but it was a false positive because the technology is unreliable and *******. They even dug and found nothing. Each plumber has to put in a different claim to the insurance for each stage of work carried out, for example, claim for a trip, claim for leak detection services, claim for labour to EXPOSE if a leak is detected, then claim for fixing the leak itself and another claim for putting everything back as it was. After Plumber 2 failed, they recommended repiping, which is a viable solution. This "insurance" company then refused to pay for any further claim. They put an endor*****t on my insurance policy and wanted to pay out a few thousand rands to me to leave them alone for this leak issue, claiming that it is a maintenance problem or something. Where is your technical evidence for this?? It is now January 15 2025 and only today the problem is resolved by a plumber I privately hired. They dug, traced the pipes and repiped in 1 day. FNB you have MAJOR issues with CLC and Short Term insurance in general. 1. Because you use a 3rd party, there were communication issues between FNB and CLC and me. Neither know what the other wants or is doing for a claim. 2. Because you use CLC, they service multiple companies, I speak to a different person every single phone call and have to explain to them the entire story in every call. MY GOD. Don't they use CRM systems or ticket systems to track these things?? 3. Nobody has the latest correct information or status update for a claim at any given time. 4. Very few times CLC called to follow up with a claim. They are not proactive at all. I have to be the one to call to push claims and authorisations. They take FOREVER. 5. They don't consider one problem as one claim. They create a new claim for every stage of solving one single problem. How does this make sense ??? 6. They forced the plumbers to carry out leak detection first, then only expose and fix, but leak detection is extremely unreliable. 7. They don't consider repiping as a viable solution. But they don't understand that it may be cheaper and easier to solve the problem. 8. They don't allow me to elect my own plumbers who may be closer and more skilled. So as at 15 January 2025, our water bill is at R118000 because we had could not do without water and had to keep the meter opened. Our own plumbers fixed the issue today in 1 day and I want FNB insurance to pay for the plumbers invoice if they care about their customers. It still won't be enough because of all the pain we went through over the last few months. I will be cancelling this insurance and also complaining to the ombudsman about this if nothing comes of this. I'm even a private clients client and it makes no difference. Why do I even bank with these ****mers.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting me. I spoke to Brenda from the FNB complaints department. I was asked to send through all documentation pertaining to the matter. I've sent this through to Abdul Christian as instructed by Brenda.

I am still awaiting feedback - is there any feedback with regards to this matter? Nobody has contacted me or confirmed any receipt of documentation till date.

Regards,
