Worst Service Ever (FNB)

FNB on the 30th April 2020 mailed me with regards to a reduction in my credit limit of my credit card, with in the email was a number ***) I should if I have any queries as to why this action was taking place without my consent. I then attempted to contact this number for several days with no luck getting through to anyone on the other end. I then contacted my premier banking line which then was only able to inform that my account or some FNB account has been in arrears but couldn’t exactly tell me why it’s in arrears cause that’s all that was noted. I then contacted the credit card department and they couldn’t help me, I then contacted premier banking again and logged a complaint on the 6th May 2020 (FNB :-) Your Call Reference number is Rm***) and only got a response today with a different reference and case number not even relevant to my original reference (Case:***[REF:***] where they have just once again given me a number ***) that’s not contactable you stay on hold literally forever I attempt and was on hold for 25 mins. I even mailed *** on 5th May 2020 they requested my id number to investigate yet no response after that. I went into the bank 19th May 2020 was assisted by Ditolo Odwa who even attempted to contact the relevant department with no response that even he mailed them and he also checked to see if my accounts were ever in arrears and could not find this discrepancy and once again I have gotten no response from them as well. So please I would like to know how they came about this conclusion cause I myself know that my accounts has never been in arrears or behind in any which way and yet FNB a leading bank in the industry can’t even give me a simple explanation no matter how much departments you contact, mail or even within the bank itself could assist me with this query. I’m saddened by this as I left my previous bank with a promise that I wouldn’t experience with them yet I’m left with another hopeless bank doing as they please with my accounts no permission at all.

Okay so thanks to hellopeter I’ve gotten a prompt response in a matter of hours as to days yet to no resolution as they are claiming now that the reason for the reduction is due to covid-19 and they doing it in my best interest? How without my consent? Without proper explanation in the 1st place? Making notes that my account is in arrears due to that fact my credit scoring drop by 8 points and all I’m getting is an I’m sorry! After all the my troubles I went through just to get a response someone calls me to give me a sob story in best interest when my account doesn’t display any need for a reduction as I’m an avid payer and never had a bad record with this banking institution called FNB and still they couldn’t explain to my why I couldn’t get through to both the numbers they have supp**** me with just utterly and poor delivery from a bank with such high regards . Please if anyone reads this and are fami**** with any law that stipulates that a bank can reduce credit card limits without consent of the owner please advise as I am not going to leave this as is I will seek further counsel as the banks chargers we pay are not peanuts for banks just to do as they please in our best interest wow well done FNB why don’t you charge no bank fees and no interest with regards to covid-19!!!
