WORST BANKING EXPERIENCE EVER .

Wow what a really bad experience I have had with FNB . I would really advise people to really think about opening an account with them .

I am a Dealer Principal of a car company and my time is limited so I did what FNB advertised and opened an account via the internet . Due to my income I was given a Premier Account with my own team of bankers . My Premier Cheque card was delivered to me . I was not told that I needed to take my Fica documents to the nearest branch but knowing the FICA act I took my documents to FNB Karaglen . I was told that my card was activated and my Fica documents werent needed . Needless to say I couldnt use my card and was told Fica documents were needed .I stated I had taken them to the branch and now had to take more time off . I eventually got it sorted out by emailing my fica docs and it took 3 days to activate my account. As i had all my money in my card I couldnt buy any necessary groceries and had to borrow money from work .

Next I was told as I needed a Premier credit card to go with my cheque account . I was contacted and my credit card was sent via courier . The next week I was contacted by the courier company stating they had a Credit card for me and I told them I had already received a card from them .Guess what ..... I had problems ......it was declined so I had to make use of my money in my cheque account and lost me e bucks . I contacted the bankers and told them what had happened and asked them what the problem was with the card only for them to advise me that they had sent a new card out because my card was faulty . I asked the lady by the name of Nikiwe why they had not advised me that they had given me a faulty card and that their lack of service could have left me embarressed if I had tried to use the card at a store . She said she didnt know why they hadnt and then keep me holding on my phone for 10 minutes with no regard that i might have been on my own cell phone which was costing me money . I told her she could get hold of the courier company to see when they could actually let me have card and call me back . This lady shouted at me that I put the phone down on her .

I then asked to have my account closed because of all the issues I have been thru with FNB only to be told that I have really been badly treated as a client and they would really like me to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation . A week later and still no new credit card , still no call from FNB , No follow up .Worst thing is that my nephew who earn R 6000,00 a month gets better service from just having an ordinary bank account not some fancy Premier account .

I am so dissapointed in FNB and really suggest thinking twice before opening an account with them .Really save yourself frustration and anger by avoiding a bank account with them .

So much phone calls and frustration and bad service is just not worth it
