Worst Bank I've Ever Been With!
I've not even been with FNB for a month yet and I've been having multiple issues that no one seems to want to fix. My employer banks with FNB so I opened up an account in the middle of last month at a little pop up they had at my office and decided to port my number over to FNB based on the benefits they told me I would receive. After almost a week of trying to figure out why I can't use my sim card, it turns out the sim card I was issued wasn't the sim card they ported my number to and instead, I had a whole brand-new number. Which means the cell number linked to all my banking info across 3 different banks were now at risk. After 3 days of calling customer care multiple times a day and messaging them through their Secure Chat, (which is another pointless service because they're always delaying responses and ending chats while you're busy typing), I eventually went into a branch to complain about this issue and have ANOTHER sim swap done so I can have my own number back. I then got back to work only to realize that I got charged fees for a sim swap and new sim. I got charged for a mistake made by FNB when they ported my number to a different sim than the one I got issued. This morning again, I tried withdrawing funds to travel to work and found out I couldn't, I tried ewallet, geopay, payshap, EVERY avenue of fund transfers and nothing worked. Imagine my confusion when I had called the call centre and was told my account is blocked?! Blocked because I didn't provide them with all the information they required?? WHY WAS I NOT TOLD BY THE PERSON OPENING UP MY ACCOUNT THAT THERE WAS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED FROM ME?! I've been with FNB for just 3 weeks and I'm already considering going back to my old bank. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a bank IM MY LIFE. Why is my accounts being placed on a hold that can't be reversed through customer care? Why am I being charged to rectify a mistake that FNB made, making my personal information vulnerable? Why should I call multiple times a day just to figure out why I can't withdraw my own money? If this is how you treat new customers, I'm surprised you even have business. Or is it because I'm not a rich, old man so I'm not as important.
no compensation for the stress this puts me under, no consideration for me as a new customer, just a customer care advising me, in the most bored, deadpan tone, that I must wait 48 'business hours'. I've not had a single good experience with FNB since I've been with them.
