Worst and *********** insurance ever.
I am insured with FNB short term insurance.
My car got into an accident on the 25th of August and it was driven by my friend at the time of the accident. They will never call you back to give feedback or whatsoever, So I contacted them on the 29th of September and registered a claim, provided them with everything they had asked for. To my surprise i was ambushed by a call from external investigators , without them contacting me that my claim will be handed over or even call to confirm any of the information that was provided
The trailer that my car had collided with was not roadworthy, as it had no chevron and the reflectors barely covered the trailer. The incident driver of my car had explained to them that the indicators of the trailer didn’t work, and the car was attempting to turn and my friend couldn’t have seen that as the indicators of the car itself were obstructed by the trailer.
Well I did comply with the external investigators and provided them with all the information requested including affidavits for them to access my cellphone data and that of the incident driver including all the other evidence i had that could maybe assist with the investigation.
I had always asked my self that what might have caused the escalation without any warning as all information was provided to them as asked,
The lady handling my claim (Azalia Simons) did confirm after i did a telephonic follow up, on the 16th of October that there was a concern about the damages of the car and speed at which the car was travelling on (89km/h), as the accident had happened on a 60km/h road, of which her information was incorrect as the accident actually happened at a 100km/h zone.
The 60km/h zone incorrect information was actually provided by the driver of the car with a trailer that was not roadworthy. So they basically chose to believe that driver, without sending any investigator to the scene, to confirm any of the information that was provided by me and the 3rd party.
Now i am told that my claim might take 60 to 90 working days, all this delay based on a false speed statement that was given by the 3rd party. I did try to raise my concerns with no luck, then i asked to speak to her supervisor on the 17th of October and i was told that the supervisor was at lunch and would call me back after lunch, until today, two days later, i have not received any call I guess he/she is still at lunch.
I should have noticed all the red flags from FNB when they couldn’t give me lower interest rates on my car finance than other banks, i should have noticed the lack of trust from there.
