Why should you not choose FNB Private Banking.

To put it mildly my experience with FNB over the past four weeks has been painful. Firstly their home loan system was done and they could not process applications for three weeks. After tweeting RBJacobs we eventually got a provisional approval but we had almost missed the offer to purchase deadline. Today we got the final approval and frankly it is insulting what FNB have offered.

Nonetheless, you would assume that throughout this process my private banker would be keeping me updated, following up with the relevant internal resources and pushing for the best deal for me. Short answer, no. She didn't answer my calls, only responded to e-mails when prompted and told me there is nothing she can do, she has 'done her best'. She doesn't even have my number saved to her phone...

I am supposedly a 'premium' client, yet I am treated like a second class citizen! FNB can advertise as much as they like but if their employees let them down it is all for nothing. Now I start the process of finding a new bank who hopefully appreciates my business.
