Where is my R1000?
<div>A week ago on 2 March I tried to withdraw R1000 from a Capitec ATM as there was no FNB ATM nearby. The transaction was cancelled and an 'ATM out of order' message displayed on the screen. No slip was given to me as well as no money, however, the amount was still deducted off my account. I phoned the FNB helpline and was put through to the debit card division where they informed me I needed to fill out a form entitled 'Cheque and Debit card outstanding authorization reversal request' in order for the transaction to be investigated. I did this straight away. I then received an SMS stating I needed to go to my nearest FNB branch to complete a SASWITCH query form. I went to the Hillcrest, Durban branch this morning and spent over half an hour waiting to see a consultant who had no idea what form I was referring to. She spoke to her supervisor who told me it was impossible to track the Capitec ATM as I did not have a slip from the ATM itself. This flawed me as surely any educated person would simply phone Capitec and find the number of the ATM themselves? When I asked Ms Moodley when I would get my money back she said 4 working days and then said 14 working days. When I asked her for a reference number and helpline number she was unable to supply these either. FNB, its been a week since I brought this to your attention, I am out R1000, and I am no closer to finding out a solution to this problem thanks to inexperienced branch and helpline employees. I am available after 3pm every afternoon and, as a customer who pays to bank with you, expect a call next week explaining what your next step is.</div>
