WHAT TERRIBLE SERVICES I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THIS BANK!!!

I am absolutely distraughted. I have been a customer with FNB for quite a few years. I went on UNPAID maternity leave the 1st of February 2024 I notified the consultant in the primrose Gauteng branch that I will be getting no income for 4months and what will happen to my polices and insurances as I won't have the funds to pay them and my account he said unfortunately there's nothing I can do.

I've been up and down to the labour department to get my UIF maternity benefits as my company does not pay while on maternity leave. I got an SMS on the 21st of May that my claim is approved to my surprise I noticed my FNB account is showing blank via the the app.

I decided to take my 3 month for a long walk to the primrose branch once again as it is the closes and I have no funds to get there any other way.

The consultant firstly was rude and did not want to assist I gave her my id number twice to which she was not acknowledging me eventually handed her my ID.

She advised that account is closed so I asked if we can please reopen the account as I have done this previously (4years ago)

She said okay when I explained that I am waiting on funds from the department of labour she turns the screen to me and shows me an amount R2400 and something and says she cannot reopen my account as I need to pay that amount the the attornies and get a settlement letter.

I told her I was not notified that my account be closed via email, text or call as per FNB policy I will be notified prior to the bank closing my account.

This is unacceptable! I cannot be punished like this because I am maternity leave with no funds I am NOT unemploymed I will be returning to work in June.

How am I supposed to pay this amount when I am waiting my funds to be paid into that account so that I can finally pay up my outstanding services with FNB

It's ridiculous how I can get calls to offer me services which I have so far taken 3 since with FNB was looking at adding more once I return to work.

Companies should be more considerate and understanding for mother that go on unpaid maternity leave knowing how ridiculous our government services is .. I've waited months for my money I worked for and fought hard for it begging and borrowing to get it sorted to told basically they cannot help me get my money.

I have suffered a very long 120 days with my newborn baby and I know have to suffer at the hand of my bank.

All I need is my account reopen and FNB Can take their funds once my money reflect!! That's a promise.

Regards Tilana
