What is the use of being a Private Wealth client with FNB?
My husband a Private Wealth cliemt with FNB and is currently in Saudi Arabia for work. He's been trying since the 6th of December to clear his funds. 1st it was cleared in Rands without offering an exchange rate. We then asked for the funds to be reversed and FNB told us the problem is with his bank in Saudi. He went back to his bank in Saudi and the problem was not with them, but with FNB. FNB doesn't seem to know how to accept USD and offer an exchange rate. Then they tell us that the funds are first received by Nedbank and it is them who converts it to Rands and then it comes through to FNB? Why don't we just bank with Nedbank then? It is almost 10 days now and the reversed amount still doesn't reflect back into his Saudi accound. FNB can't provide us with proof of where the funds is. Only that it was stuck in cyber space between them and Forex and it is on the way. Just how long can something like this take? Is it really impossible to receive funds in USD and offer an exchange rate to your clients? Previous years they could do this and suddenly not? It is absolutely ridiculous and no Private Banker at FNB seems to take ownership or responsibility of this urgent matter. It just doesn't seem to get sorted out? We still don't have answers, every couple of days we are told to wait 3 to 5 more days for the funds to reflect back? Really?
