What is FNB Hiding?
We had a non-negotiable, non-transferable cash cheque (#001409) made out at the Greytown Nedbank branch on December 15, 2014. We gave the cheque to the recipient the next day.

In May 2015, we were made aware that the intended recipient had not received the cheque and so we had it cancelled at Nedbank and the money returned. A few weeks later, the branch manager called to inform us that the cheque HAD been cashed at FNB Hayfields on 15 December 2014. We then got in touch with FNB who issued these references: 75N4XR73 and 702422Q for feedback. We also got in touch with the Operations Manager, Rita who promised to investigate.

She said the cheque had gone to the correct recipient - case closed. The problem is still that THE RECIPIENT DID NOT DEPOSIT/CASH THE CHEQUE. THERE IS NO SOLID INFORMATION FROM FNB TO CONCLUDE THE MATTER - all we have is the front of the cheque. It is disturbing that our queries fall on deaf ears time and time again. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS MONEY - this has gone on long enough.
