What a joke!! FNB Does as they please.
The Credit Card department is such a joke!!! I received an sms stating my debit order date for my credit card would be aligned to my salary date if I rep**** yes to an sms. I thought that was fantastic as it was not aligned. However, error on my part - I did not read the date they would align it to. The date the bank said my salary date is, was the 17th of every month. I NEVER get paid on the 17th, my salary date is the 25th. I contacted the bank via the secure chat and explained this on the 11th, and I was guided on how to change the date via the app to the 25th. All sorted - or so I thought. FNB still attempted the debit order on the 17th!!! It was not successful and I contacted them again. I was told I should not have accepted the proposed date in the first place and the changes made by me to the 25th would only take effect in October. I will have a mark against my record because my debit order was not successful. I received my salary on the 23rd, and the debit order went off. I thought that was then end of this nightmare. BUT, On the 25th - THEY TOOK ANOTHER DEBIT ORDER!!! That is twice in one month. I went to the bank, and found out all credit card dealings are done via the call center. The consultant contacted the call center, and then I found out that my account was placed on hold due to the failed debit order on the 17. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! So it does not matter what we do as clients of the bank, to try keep everything fine on our end, the bank will do as they please, and punish their clients regardless???? I have lodged a complaint, and I have still not received any correspondence. And I requested this whole ordeal to be escalated last week, which clearly was not done. I have been with FNB for as long as I can remember, but this was absolutely shocking.
