Waiting for a month just to downgrade an account???????

I am currently paying close to 300 on bank charges for an account that i hardly use, and requested to downgrade the account. They are telling me that they have logged a ticket it should take a month to resolve it. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! i am not waiting for a month to be downgraded, if this cannot be done then you might as well close the account, i can easily switch to capitec which has the same options for way less than what u am currently paying, and I have my business account with FNB i will move both if this is not sorted ASAP!
