Violation of consumer rights by FNB

After changing employment at the end of January 2016, I called the credit card division to request a payment and debit order date change to the 1st of each month from the previous 20th debit order date.

At the end of February I was called by a call centre agent and told my credit card was in arrears. I asked them how this could be possible and I was told the change was not effected. The change was made at the end off March, after speaking to more than four agents.

Subsequent to this i've received numerous calls from agents saying my account is in arrears. I've asked them why I was never informed that I'd have to make two payments if I changed my debit order date. The response I have received is that the person i spoke too should have informed me, but since they didn't I just need to make the payment.

As a consumer I should have been informed about this an been advised accordingly. This is affecting my credit record and no one is willing to assume responsibility for this mess that an FNB intermediary has created.
