Valid overdraft limit increase still not reflecting more than 48 hours after applying

Monday 19 November 2018: I app**** for an overdraft limit increase to "prepare for life's unexpected costs" on Monday 19th November 2018. Initially this was done online, as I've done this before without a glitch, but had to go on to call my team of bankers to help with my application. I was sent a quote to sign and initial which I sent soon after it was received on Monday afternoon, granted the quote was sent back just before 5 pm so I was informed by the consultant that it may only start being processed Tuesday morning.

Tuesday 20 November 2018 I called my team of bankers on Tuesday just to find out if my application had been received to which this was confirmed.

Wednesday 21 November 2018 I called after I received an email on Wednesday morning just before 9 am confirming that my overdraft limit increase request was being processed and that I should receive a response within 48 hours. A little worried I called again to find out from when this 48 hour period would start, i was informed that it would have started from the time I sent my application, I told the consultant that this was Monday afternoon so could I expect the response by this (Wednesday) afternoon, and she said yes. Later that Wednesday morning just before 11:30 I got an email confirming that the overdraft facility had been activated. Reading this email again I probably am at fault for not querying the wording used as I already had an overdraft facility, and was requesting an increase but I thought this meant my limit increase was activated. When I didn't see a change in the balance of my cheque account I called again and this is when I was told that the system only updates at midnight so the limit increase should reflect after midnight.

Thursday 22 November 2018 I woke up just after 3 am this (Thursday) morning expecting to see the limit increase and make the payments I needed to asap, however it still did not reflect. I called again at just after 5:30 am and was told there was a systems update overnight resulting in a delay, but it should reflect during the course of the day. I waited until midday (around 12) to call again as the limit increase had still not reflected, after holding for sometime I was informed by the consultant that she tried to make the reflection possible but could not since it was being held back by someone else, she said that she had sent an email to this person to call me at 14:00 to resolve the issue. I waited and called again at roughly 20 minutes to 15:00. The consultant really tried to resolve the issue, she even called me back when I informed her that my airtime was depleting. After a few requests to hold, being informed she was discussing this with seniors in the credit department and asked if I can be called back later while they figured out what seemed to be the problem. She eventually called and asked that I reapply and that I would receive another quote to sign and initial, but confirmed I will not be getting the overdraft limit increase i'd app**** for on Monday, today (Thursday). She also asked that I confirm how I app**** for the limit increase and asked to call me first thing in the morning at 7 am Friday morning.

I unfortunately still have not received the quote to re apply.

Whether some of the fault was mine due to how I'd app**** or a problem with the system I truly don't know, but it's caused a lot of distress, disappointment and reconsidering of my banking options.

To the team of bankers i have dealt with over the past few days in this regard I can not fault their professionalism, patience, helpfulness, assurance and commitment to resolve as best they can, however in hindsight as helpful and service oriented this team of bankers were, some of the earlier responses to my queries seemed a bit generic, but this can be attributed to only having a screen shot of the whole process.
