Useless Responses

I've sent multiple queries and complaints and my issue has still not been resolved. I need to add my card to my Netflix account, but the transaction fails every time. FNB told me to contact Netflix directly, so I did. Netflix stated that the transaction is being declined by my financial institution. To quote: "Kindly contact your bank and have them check if the card has been enabled for; Automatic Recurrent Charges, International Transactions and E-Commerce Payments."

So I launched another query to FNB with this information, and they just respond with the EXACT same message to contact Netflix directly, after I stated in my query that I have contacted them.

I moved to FNB hoping that their service is better than my previous bank, but it seems I've made a big mistake.

Good day Alicia Cameron,

Thank you for your posting.

I have reviewed your complaint logged and noted that an email was sent to you on 05/03/2018 at 11:09am advising that due to security reasons some online merchants do not accept debit cards only Cheque and Credit Cards and becuase you have a debit card their system will not accept it. This matter has to be addressed with Netflix. Please note that this is a third party website which FNB has no control over.

Regards,

Thanks for the reply. The problem is not with Netflix, they told me they do accept debit cards. I also know many people who have debit cards and it works for them. Even people with the same account type and card type as I have at FNB, and it works fine for them. So the problem MUST be on your side. Please check if my card has been enabled for; Automatic Recurrent Charges, International Transactions and E-Commerce Payments.
