Useless FNB

In April 2019 I went under Debt Review. I have a Gold Cheque account with FNB. I have since opened a different bank account as I needed to keep all things separate, my FNB Gold account charges me so much in monthly bank fees even while I do not use that account and I am paying FNB off via my Debt councilors each month.

Yesterday I went into an FNB branch in order to downgrade my bank account so that I do not need to pay all these high fees which only gets added onto the debt I already owe FNB but I was told that because I am under Debt Review I cannot downgrade my account.

This is absolutely ridiculous as I am trying to pay off my debt but FNB wont allow me to minimise my debt but the weird thing is, if I wanted to upgrade my account, I would be allowed to do that but not downgrade due to being under Debt Review. Where is the logic in that? I need to downgrade my unused FNB bank account to the lowest costing account in order for me to decrease my debt as soon as possible
