Useless at Replacing Lost Card while Overseas

I lost my card while travelling in the United States. When contacting FNB for a replacement, I was told it would take 21 days and would cost approximately R1000 to courier the card. I found that to be ridiculous service when I know for a fact that I can courier it myself within 5 days with DHL for less than half that amount. When I informed my premier banker that I'd like the card delivered to my father so that he could courier it, everything was fine. Now 5 days later, the courier company refuses to deliver it to my father even though I've provided his id number and contact details. I spent 2 hours on call with various people who each giving different answers as to whether or not delivery to a third party is possible. I don't understand how this can be so difficult to resolve. I'm only returning in December, and need access to my funds as soon as possible. The proposed timeframe and cost is simply not acceptable. Tomorrow I will begin searching for other banks. If any can deliver a card to me in an acceptable time frame, consider my FNB account closed.
