URGENT: FNB Life debited R1,155.16 for a CANCELLED policy using child maintenance funds
I am writing to report a deeply ********* and potentially ******* series of debits by FNB Life. I am currently unemployed, and FNB has already sent me a formal cancellation email for my funeral policy due to non-payment.
Despite FNB officially cancelling my cover, the bank has now "double-dipped" into my account, processing TWO separate debits of R577.58 (totaling R1,155.16) the moment a deposit was made.
This money was child maintenance, intended for the food and care of my children. FNB is now in a position where they have taken over R1,100 for a policy that they themselves have stated is no longer active. They have taken my children's money for "cover" that does not even exist.
This is predatory "tracking" at its worst. You cannot cancel a contract and then continue to sweep an account for arrears on that cancelled contract without a specific reinstatement agreement.
I demand the following immediately:
Full and immediate reversal of both debits totaling R1,155.16.
A formal apology for debiting an account for a cancelled policy.
Confirmation that all "tracking" instructions on my transactional account related to FNB Life have been removed.
FNB, you have left a mother and her children in a financial crisis for a policy you already cancelled. I expect this to be rectified by close of business.
