Unwanted Insurance

Hy,

I opened a bank account on Tuesday (09/03/2021) at Kempton Park Branch assisted by a lady called Matome.

During the process I was told that opening a bank account automatically comes with an insurance of which I can cancel if I don't want it. I asked for it to be cancelled the same time specifying that I already have an insurance with another bank but, I was told that I will have to do it after a day (preferably on Thursday).

I'm not sure if this is part of FNB new marketing strategy for insurance policies??? As this to me is loss of money having to go back and forth just to cancel something I did not want in the first place. This is just ABSURD!!!
