UNSUCCESSFUL DEPOSIT-apparently I’m a *********

On the 21 Jan 2021 at 14:31 after being paid in cash for a 2 week job I had completed, I deposited R4550 into the FNB atm In Epping, Cape Town after being advised by their reps that only up to a certain amount can I deposit inside the bank.

After inserting the money into the Atm, it only regonised R3390 and rejected R1160. I then retired the notes that were rejected (R1160) and received an unsuccessful deposit slip.

I then went into the bank and completed the claim form. The following Saturday received only the amount of R3390. When I went back to the bank to dispute the transaction, I was told that it is now being investigated as a ***** case. No further explanation as to why it was *****. After being contacted by the branch administrator who had viewed the footage and advised that it does not seem as if I had retried the transaction and according to them there was no excess money in the machine , she had arranged for me to view the footage. Upon viewing said footage, I was shown snips of the complete transaction and was disgusted by the attitude shown toward my dad standing at the Atm with me and that it seemed like a ***** situation. I was being made to be the ********* for asking for my money to be returned back to me.

I was then told they will give me a letter for indicating they have completed their investigation and find no fault with their process. No resolution, and if I am not entirely satisfied with the outcome I can take this to the ombudsman.

How do we trust an institution that has been dubbed "people's choice"? INTEREST OF WHOMST ARE YOU LOOKING OUT FOR? I refuse to be a victim of professional theft by an institution I'm supposed to trust. I am a student working hard to get by and this may seem like a drop in the ocean to the amount of money they handle, but I shudder at the thought for people with less than me and the impact it may have on their families.
