Unsuccessful attempts using Secure Chat

Secure chat has been such a waste of time for me. Each time I have either had to wait indefinitely and get no response, or wait indefinitely while someone messages back but fails to get back again with any response to my query! It is like having an online text conversation with someone who has fallen asleep.
