Unreasonable requirements and total lack of communication

My wife opened a bank account at FNB for her consulting business in 2014. At the time I was given access to the account as I do the books of the business. Recently she has taken a full time job and stopped consulting. The bank account was closed but I did not get the last few statements before the account was closed. She signed a letter authorising the bank to provide me with the last few statements and I took it the local FNB branch. They refused to provide me with the statements and said that I need a court order, ordering the bank to provide me with the statements. I then emailed the banker requesting the statements or refer me to a senior manager but I have not had the courtesy of a reply.
