Unrealistic Penalty Fees that are Never Explained
I have encountered some financial compromises this month, due to unforeseen circumstances, and unfortunately three of my debit orders have bounced. One institution erroneously deducted nearly double the amount they were supposed to, resulting in a cataclysmic domino effect that absolutely obliterated my monthly financial plan.
FNB, elitists that they are, allowed the transaction, even though I do not have an overdraft of any kind. On reversing the wrongful amount deducted, FNB went even further and charged me PENALTY fees of over R100 per bounced transaction.
So instead of helping me they very quickly charge a stupid amount of money in penalties that doesn't go anywhere but into their pockets, and I still have to try and sort out why the figures are incorrect, and I now have to get through this and the entire month without any money.
When I complained and questioned why your the fees were so high months ago I did not receive an answer.
I am warning absolutely everyone to avoid FNB, because any fault will cost you no less than R100 - whether or not it's your fault is irrelevant to them.
FNB will literally take more money from you than you can save.

Why am I paying R105 and having my account damaged further by these penalties? They haven't provided and answer for this and have not attended to my concern, they seem anxious to just forget about me as soon as possible.
I repeat: FNB did not address the issue, they did not answer the question and they did not provide any sort of solution. They basically told me to make sure I have enough money in my account.

The money I make isn't the problem. The problem is the fact that FNB thinks they're entitled to take as much of it as they want without actually justifying why, not to mention ********ly.
