UNPAID ITEMS IN ERROR FROM FNB SIDE.
My salary was paid into my bank account on 23/02/2018. Normal salary payment date is on the 25th of each month but because it was a Sunday, salary is then paid on the Friday before the Sunday. All my debit orders has always been and still are set to go off on the 25th and 26th of each month.
FNB UNPIAD THREE OF MY DEBIT ORDERS ON 26/02/2018 AND THEY HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN DEBITED OFF OF MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!
According to FNB it was unpaid because there was not enough funds, but the statement I RECEIVED FROM FNB shows that there was more than enough funds available!!!!
No where on my bank statement does it even show that the debit orders was first deducted and then unpaid....they were simply just unpaid!!!!
Now, this has affected my credit score. I have recently been divorced and I am trying to purchase a home for me and my daughter but it is going to be declined because of an error on FNB's side.
FNB has reversed the charges that was debited from my account for these "unpaid items" .... they say it was reversed in good faith....but they refuse to give me a letter stating that these items were unpaid in error because then it would confirm that somewhere in their banking system, Hogan, there was a glitch.
What has this world come to?!?!?!?!? Because somebody at FNB is too proud to admit that there was a problem from their side, the rest of my and my daughter's life has been impacted in a negative and huge way!!!!
I was a loyal employee of FNB for 11 years and have been banking with FNB my whole life. I was proud to have worked for FNB, always; and I was proud to say that I bank with FNB as they are the best bank. I have NEVER had one single unpaid item ever! My parents and brother also bank with FNB, but, we have now come to realize that FNB is NOT the best bank in SA. They all have decided to move their bank accounts and home loans because of this.
My only request was to get a letter from FNB stating that the items were unpaid in error. This way I would still qualify for a bond. But after many attempts I still don't have a letter....they refuse.
I have now to play the blame and shame game......I will spread the word....at work, friends, family, the local man I meet....hoping that this message will reach the correct person who will be able to assist.
I am going to log a formal complaint to the Banking Council and the Ombudsman.....I will not allow that only because FNB want's to keep it's proud name, to affect my total future!!!!!!!!!
