Unpaid items
This is the third time I am experiencing a problem. I have a premium cheque account with FNB without an overdraft. I noticed that FNB charges 'Items paid no funds' is supposed because they honor a transaction I made when I had no funds. The issue here is that i have never used my card with no funds available and i make sure my pending purchases will be honoured. There is something wrong with the banks response time as sometimes i wake up with a negative because they take 5 days to show a purchase. I do not want them to honour a purchase if there are no funds. Why must i pay R110 for an item that maybe cost me R25 because they do not update their system efficiently? This has been an ongoing problem for the past 3 months. I want all the debited amounts refunded to me. The last lot of unpaid fees I had debited was R990!!!! of which i only recieved R400.00 back . I was told this would be done as a "once off" as if they are doing me a favour??!!! I have checked my account this morning and have items pending which at the time I had funds available. How many thousands of rands am I going to be charged, I am too scared to log into my bank account to see. I have already made plans to downgrade my account but if the unpaid fees are not reversed, i will be closing my fnb account and moving somewhere else and will also lodge a complaint with the banking ombud. How on earth can you charge a penalty fee for something where you at that time had the money and how does FNB honour transactions if there are not funds in the account when a debit order comes off! This is day light *******, not a value added service. I do not have an overdraft as i am under DR . Please correct uregnly!
