Unnecessary issuing new cards ****
I called FNB on Saturday regarding a few things I already had a temporary block on my card since the start of the lockdown I think I told the lady there was a transaction attempted on this card even though it’s been blocked so and when I went to look at the notification for the second time it disappeared So I mentioned the worded hacked and she immediately started telling me i need to cancel my cards I told her not to do this many many times I told her that the card is temp blocked so it would be easy to find out who tried to use it She still went ahead and blocked it and I told her I am not paying for the new cards It’s as if the staff get a com to issue new cards even tho they are unnecessary. And if they so concerned about the hacking then I would have had an investigator call me by now I am not paying for the new cards This is unacceptable and I can’t afford to keep paying for cards
The card was already blocked and had been so for a long time. There was no need to cancel the card but after telling her this and not to do it, emphasising the unnecessary replacement cost. She went ahead and did it, like a robot who can't think beyond what she is trained to do.
This really feels like a **** and banks are training their staff to order replacement cards once they hear key words.
They act concerned But up to this day the bank has done absolutely nothing to attend to my query. They haven't offered any assistance and I'm really afraid to say this out of fear my unused card will be cancelled and need to be replaced.
Please refund the money as this is something I cannot afford right now and it's something I refuse to pay for due to staff ignorance and incompetence.
There was attempts to charge my Account by an international company. I was charged a fee for it declining. But fnb is gone too clever for itself. All notifications are within the app and once you read them they disappear. Please tell me why I stopped receiving good old fashioned sms messages which work and stood the test of time. Why not have both? This will be great for ***** prevention.
Anyway that's R250 I could have spent on gifts for my family for the season.
I'm really considering leaving fnb due to all the reasons mentioned and more. And did I mention that fnb is absurdly expensive. I don't need to because that's the general consensus among hard working people (uber drivers etc) that I speak to. It's nicknamed the minus bank or negative bank. Go figure.
