Unfair Affordability Assessment

Earlier this week I received an SMS notifying me of a substantial reduction in credit limit on my FNB gold credit card. This account has not been conducted poorly, in fact, I have never missed a payment on the account and it's been active for well over 5 years! Upon querying their motivation for this reduction in credit limit, I received a response saying that they are currently running a campaign, whereby they are assessing their customers affordability, and reducing their credit based upon their findings. No prior notification was given of this decision, until it had come into effect - I have no say in the matter, apparently, even though I honour my payments and conduct my account well.

I am actually quite disgusted at the arrogance of FNB - How is it, that without even contacting a paying customer, they can make a decision with regard to my affordability? I don't like the response I received either, I get the sense that the customers are not important to FNB, and think they should re-think how they make their customers feel - in the long run, actions like this will affect sales.

I would not recommend FNB to ANYONE based on this and previous experience!!
