Unauthorized debit orders
I got a call from a telemarketer ***) who was informing me of a funeral cover plan. She had all my personal details including my bank account number and told me they would be debiting my account at the end of September and before I could agree or dispute this, she hung up.
I called premier banking to see if I can give the bank an instruction not to authorize additional debit orders to my account, the premier banker referred me to the ***** department and there I was referred to general enquiries and eventually told that maybe a branch would assist.
I went to the branch and I was told that nothing can be done until the debit order goes off. This will then cost me time and money again as I have to then reverse and stop the order which I have already tried to stop from happening. How is the bank not able to protect my money if I want to give the instruction for this to happen?
