Unauthorized converservation of Savings account to Cheque

My Saving Gold account was converted into a Cheque Gold account by FNB with no communication or authorisation from me. I went to the Karaglen branch on Saturday19.11.2016. Reggie Mashabela the consultant that assisted me informed me that he cannot assist me-but he would logg a call with back office. I emailed him yesterday-he has not responded. Since August 2016 to date - FNB has been deducting Cheque card monthly fees from my Savings account. I already have an exisiting Cheque account with FNB. I am now being charged monthly bank fees of R100 each for two Cheque accounts! FNB must reverse the R400 that they deducted for the past 4 months from my Savings account! This is unacceptable! 3 days have passed and FNB has not contacted me nor refunded me!

The below email was sent ********** on the 01.12.2016 - No response from FNB

Post complaint – I have contacted ********** 408 numerous times. The call centre agents escalated the calls each time I called. Since logging the complaint – Themba from the Karaglen branch has been in contact with me. Yesterday he contacted me to inform me that the bank has decided NOT to refund me the bank fees that they took without my consent. I requested that he forward me proof that I received the email notification from FNB confirming that I was informed that my FNB Gold Saving account would be converted to a Cheque Account. I received an email from Reggie Mashabela on Wednesday afternoon. The email sent to me just has an attachment backdated to 01.06.2016. This is not proof that the notification was sent to me. Anybody can modify a standard template – include client details on it and back date the document. After complaining and waiting 8 working days – that was the feedback I received from the Karaglen branch.

I logged another call with Tracy this morning. Nobody has contacted me since that call. I did not request for FNB to convert my Gold Savings Account into a Cheque account. I have an existing Cheque account with FNB that I already pay bank fees for. The Saving Account was for savings! Not for FNB to ***** from. Why would I want two Gold Cheque Accounts and pay cheque card fees for both? I also have proof from other FNB clients that have the very same FNB Gold Savings Account as well as an existing Gold Cheque Account that was not affected. Their FNB Gold Savings account was not converted into a Cheque Account and they were not charged additional bank fees!

Please see attached email received yesterday. I will have to take this to the Bank Ombudsman if I get no assistance and valid reasons.

CAN FNB PLEASE CONTACT ME AS I WANT TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS TO A BANK THAT VALUES AND RESPECTS ME. I REFUSE TO PAY MORE BANK FEES.
