Unauthorised debit orders increasing

I am not a person that always checks their account, but now of late when I did, I noticed about 8-10 unauthorised debit orders on my account. When I called First National Bank to enquire, I was merely told to reverse and stop the debit orders. Does this not impact on my credit? I just don't feel it is enough if nothing else is done internally to alleviate such transactions from happening. I am very unhappy about people trying their luck with my account in this manner and am feeling quite exposed by my bank. I would like to find out what is being done about this.
