Unauthorised debit orders
Following my complaints about unauthorised debit orders in my bank account, these ********** activities stopped after I opened a case with the police in March this year. The case no.: 92/3/2018. Date registered: 2018-03-07. Registered at: Brixton Police Station.
But these unauthorised debit orders have now resumed and two of these have been made in my account on 25 May 2018.
These debit orders are for R97.50 and R89.00. It seems the ********** were lying low because of the pending case, and have now resurfaced because nothing seems to have happened to them. What is the point of taking the trouble to open a case and do everything that is required by the bank so action can be taken, only to find that the exercise is futile?
I am still to hear what has happened to the case because neither the police nor the bank have given me any information about their investigations or the action taken against the **********.
In the past, when I asked for proof that I have authorised the debit orders, only one company responded to the bank's request. And it was clear that I did not authorise the debit order. Instead of the bank taking action, I was asked to open a ***** case. I obliged but nothing has happened so far because I am still in the dark.
The other proofs for the disputed debit orders were not provided and the bank did not pursue the culprits. I assume no action was taken to those companies who refused to comply to the request for proof of authorisation. These companies know very well that they simply lie low and start their ********** activities at a later stage. One wonders what will it take for the bank to be able to stop these **********. It seems even opening a case with the police does not help.
The bank should investigate this and furnish me with all the proofs that I have authorised these debit orders because I know nothing about them.
I would like to find what action have the bank taken against these companies that have been making ********** debit orders which I have disputed and opened a case on. This is really frustrating. It seems the bank has lost control.
