Unauthorised "arrears reduction"

Amount of R57 974.82 described as arrears reduction was unilaterally transferred from my FNB easy account to settle my personal while I was still considering an offer to settle. This amount was in fact the balance not arrears. Is it the right way to do business?

Good day
Thank you for contacting me promptly.
In terms of the OBS procedure, I’m lodging a formal, written complaint directly with FNBs Dispute Resolution Unit regarding the manual branch transfer from my easy account to my personal loan account while I was still considering Philip Smith’s settlement offer. The R57 974.82 claimed to be “arrear reduction” is in fact the balance and as a result I now owe FNB zero. Shouldn’t I be consulted regarding my money? I had a choice of changing banks before RAF paid me through Tunzi Attorneys but believed FNB is aware of my financial difficulties and would not just deduct as it pleases.
Please provide me with a Complaint Reference Number and a written response from.
Thank you for promptly responding to my Helo Peter posting. I will await your swift response.

My response just now:
Good day
Sorry I missed the call. Please send me a copy of the contract that authorises the manual branch transfer from any of my bank accounts to settle the loan. If it is there, why was I offered 20% settlement discount after two instalments were deducted in the same month? The two instalments were agreed to with FNB lawyers Brooks & Lyt but still FNB just decides to double deduct and after a few days take my money as final settlement.
Kind regards

In a recorded call from ********** received at 15:14 FNB was at pains to admit wrongdoing but we agreed as follows:
1. A refund of the full R57 974.82 will be processed and appear in my Easy account tomorrow.
2. The R1500 instalment agreed with FNB attorneys Brooks and Lyt still stands and will be deducted from my Easy account every 25th day of the month.
3. FNB will not debit my cheque account in future for any amount in respect of my personal loan.
I await confirmation and the refund so I'll post an update here tomorrow.
Thank you once more for your prompt assistance.

The amount of R57 974.82 described as arrears reduction was refunded. However, FNB deducted from my cheque account instead of my easy account as agreed. I've notified them to effect it in June.
