Unacceptable service - Discovery Card

I app**** for a Discover Credit Card (which is really just a FNB credit card with extras) on the 7th of October. I recieved a reply bank to send them my last 3 payslips which I did on the 10th of October.

On the 13th FNB tried calling me to discuss the credit card quote, however they could not get hold of me and they sent an sms with a number that I needed to call them back on. I called them back on the same day about an hour later and the call centre agent who assisted me said she could not transfer me to the departmwnt that deals with quotes. Her job was merely to provide updates and could not help me either with my query. She told me my case had been pended and the quotes department will try get hold of me again on the 14th at around 14:00. I wanted to know form her the following:

Why do you bother sending clients sms's to call you back when you know they cannot be assisted?

Why is it that I can only do business with FNB at their convinience with absolutely no care in the world of my availability?

Which business that sells products would not have a channel for clients to contact them to coclude the sale? Their attutude is "dont call us we will call you." It feels as if they are doing me a favour with this credit card.

I then laid a compaint on their website on their website on the same day (13th). By their own admission they would contact me within 24-48 hrs. It is now the 17th and they still have not contacted me.

Here is a suggestion, beofre asking everyone to "un-steve" themselves, waxing lyrical about how you are superior to other banks in the market and showing off all these awards you keep being voted for, how about you just do the basics right? Can you srart with sticking to SLA's and processes that accomodate your clients? Hows that?
