*****ulent charges
FNB's *****ulent Charges (Hidden *******ion)- #Excess Item fee I am having a problem with FNB. They have this secret charge to clients called: #Excess Item fee, this secret charge makes them more money far more than the normal bank charges. How they make money out of this charge is that they defer swipes on the FNB account and change transaction dates on the bank statement and bring back those deferred swipes (transactions) to a date where you have a low balance in your account so that they the account can be on a negative for them to maximise of this charge fradulent charges called #Excess Item fee. i.e. If on the 20th your bank balance is R1000 and you make few swipes amounting to R500 from the 20th to the 21st and you have SMS notifications showing that your balance is R500 because you made swipes amounting to R500. What they do is that they come in on the 23rd put in your monthly bank charges let's say of R800 and change transactions dates of your swipes of R500 you made of the 20th and 21st to 27th and claim that when you made those purchases there were no funds in your account and as a result they charged you #Excess Item fee of R5000, while they know very well that whenever there are no funds in the account no card purchase would have gone through. They change the date and order of the transactions to conviently suit them to claim the *****ulent #Excess Item fees. They know that in the above example if they followed the order of transactions they would have deducted the R500 swipes from your balance of R1000 and then deduct bank charges of R800 and you will be owing them R300 for their bank charges, but why do that while they could get R5000 by switching dates and defering your payments and start by deducting R800 from the R1000 and then deduct R500 afterwards which will mean that these swipes amount amounting to R500 occurred when you had no money in the account and yo must pay these fradulent #Excess Item fee while in actual fact you have an SMS notification showing that when the R500 swipes occured you actually had a balance of R500. That is why FNB deducts their monthly bank charges before month end. I was communication to someone from FNB via email by the name of : "Louw Jacques" the person can't even explain why transaction dates on my Bank statement where changed because I have invoices and SMSes proving the transaction dates and on their bank statements those transaction were deferred by 7 days so that they can claim thousands of Rands on the *****elent #Excess Item fee. I urge all FNB clients to check transaction dates on the their bank statements everytime they see these *****ulent charges on their bank statements called: #Excess Item fee. This ussually happens when your balance is on the lowest.
Above is another client’s experience which is the same as mine, fnb is debiting swipes after a few days and they charge their banking fees at anytime they want not monthly like they use too, so the sim is to end your account on a minus so they can start charging the excess fee which on my case is charged everyday and it increases everyday, if you were thinking of switching to fnb think again coz this is the worst *******ion on banking I’ve ever seen, I am moving everything to a new bank since no one can help me but I will make sure to save those who were even thinking of switching to fnb
