Trying their best not to help

I mistakingly made a payment to my home loan instead of my savings account on 16 Jan. I called FNB immediately to request reversal and they sent me a form to complete, which I did and returned the form. I was told the turnaround time was 48 hours but 10 days later it was not done and I sent a follow up. They then responded and said that now all four bond holders need to sign the form.

It is a simple mistaken transfer from one FNB account to another. The bond is up to date, there are no arrears. So why is this being treated as if I am applying for credit?

I notified FNB immediately so that they could reverse it the same day. Now that they have delayed matters so much there will be interest calculations and other complications which weren’t at all necessary.

They said the turnaround time was 2 days but never responded until I followed up. Then they come back to me with more requirements which are completely unnecessary.

Their motto should be “how can we NOT help you” because that’s what it feels like.
