TREATING THE CUSTOMER FAIRLY - FIRST NATIONAL BANK

On 2 February 2017 I purchased goods from Edgars totalling R2498.95 from my cheque account using my FNB debit card. On my return home the said goods were not suitable and I returned them to Edgars.

Edgars could not credit my cheque account/ debit card and they did not have cash to pay me for the credit. I asked them if it was possible to return the funds to my credit card which they agreed to do and the payment of R2498.95 was made. The payment was reflecting in my card on 2 February 2017.

I am now told that my account is in arrears, and that this payment was a voucher????? In my opinion this is a payment into my card ,which I requested the Ed on group to do in light of them not being able to pay into the cheque account which is where the funds came from. I request that you reflect it as such as matter of urgency. How come I was able to use my credit card over the weekend????

In terms of Treating the Customer fairly, this goes against this policy. The funds came out of my cheque account and should be reflected as a cash payment back into my credit card. I am sick and tired of sms's and daily phone calls from card division telling me that I am now in arrears and that they regret that I have not made a payment. WHEN WILL THEY ANSWER MY EMAIL WITH THE ATTACHED DOCKETS REFLECTING THE REFUND??????
