Transactions going through even though account has insufficient funds.

On 12/08/2017 I had about R790 on my cheque account but some transaction of R2, 686 went through successfully on my account. I do not have an overdraft on my accoun and have inquired about this and the response I got was that I had sufficient funds. How is R790 sufficient?
