THEE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE

I'm absolutely disgusted and extremely disappointed in the quality (or lack thereof) of service received by FNB.

I am in the process of starting a Company and was advised by someone to use FNB. I filled in a form online for a rep to call me back, I received a call from a rep and I explained to him that I’m just wanting to find out the details/process and that I cannot make a decision about the account unless the other directors approve, shortly after the call I received an email welcoming me to FNB with an e-bucks number etc. First issue, I did not agree to open up that account. I called up again (keep in mind that these calls are anything between 15-40 mins sometimes - which wastes time and money)and explained that I did not agree to anything and was told by the employee to reply to the email asking them to cancel the account, which I did. I asked the lady I was speaking to on the phone if I can go in branch Sunday and open up the business account and if it would be active immediately as we needed the banking detail as we wanted to go to SARS and she said that I could but all directors must be with me and there would be an account opening fee we would have to pay. I got all the directors to meet me Sunday morning at FNB and was told that a business account cannot be opened on a Sunday (wasting more time and more money)

While in branch, we asked the consultant (who seemed like he wasn’t too happy to do he's job) to check whether or not the account, which I never agreed to open has been cancelled and it was not. The consultant then advised that we go ahead with the application online (which had been opened without me approval, which I asked to be cancelled and wasn’t)

Anyway, after many phone call attempts (at my own expense) being sent the incorrect documentation from FNB more than once, or just not being sent it at all, so much time wasted on the phone, being placed on hold etc. For example the one day I called and they were happy with all the ID copies sent, then I called back again because I didn’t get any response from their side and was told that my ID copy wasn’t clear!! We are now going on to week 4 and still there is an issue. Today’s issue is that the document I sent which states where we will be doing business from is incorrect because we simply added in "cape town" and on the Account statement it doesn’t say cape town! so we filled the document in like this "8 road name, suburb, city" but because on the account it only says "8 road name, suburb" and because it didn’t say "city" the document is incorrect, I then get told to print the document, scratch out cape town and send it back, which I do. I call back and obviously a different consultant answers and tells me we cannot do that, we need to re-print and fill in a new document!! I actually have no words to describe my level of frustration. I was told that this is an easy process by FNB but it most definitely is not!! (THIS IS THE SHORT VERSION OF WHAT IV GONE THROUGH!) The business has not been able to operate because of this huge delay!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FNB BUSINESS TO ANYONE! Initially I thought there was a broken link between your admin department, the department who deals with the queries and the customer but now I see there isn’t even a chain! If trying to open up an account is this difficult I can’t imagine what it must be like trying to deal with FNB once the account is running. The directors have lost faith in FNB and will no longer be doing business with you.
