The worst treatment from FNB
I am writing this as a follow up review to one I submitted on the5th of May regarding a ***** incident that occurred on my FNB account. I unfortunately had the same happen on an account I hold with my main bank (not FNB) at the same time. I reported the case to FNB as soon as I realised my phone was missing and then did the same with the other bank. On realising that funds had been taken the other bank managed to reverse the transaction but FNB didn't even though I reported the incident to them first. This all happened on the 23rd of April, and after having to follow up with FNB on numerous occasions as they were not providing updates I received an email today notifying me that they were only going to reimburse me with 41% of the amount I lost. The reason provided is that they were not going to take accountability for the incident as their investigation ruled out any wrong doing from the FNB i.e. its employees or systems. I was disappointed (to say the least) to get such feedback as at no point did I ever blame FNB for what happened. The fact that the other bank was able to reverse the transactions even though I called FNB first says a lot about the value (lack thereof) they place on their clients. I am beyond appalled with the feedback I received this afternoon and would like to take the matter up as I believe I have been beyond unfairly treated. After having banked with FNB for decades I am disheartened by what has happened and will certainly be moving all remaining funds from FNB (as little as these may be, it's still all my hard earned money which clearly means nothing to FNB).
