The Sand I Find, When I Drinketh From The "Cup" FNB Gives Me...Lol

To whom it may concern, kindly allow me to heed or relate to your conscience.

If i ever thought i would ever receive such disgusting service i would have not chosen this bank from the word go. On the 29th of December i attempted to book a plane ticket to Cape town as i had an important meeting to attend to that Saturday. As i attempted to purchase the ticket i was advised that i had insufficient funds. To my surprise and embarrassment, as i am meticulous of every cent i spend on this specific account in question. I was supposed to have about 900ZAR that would be sufficient but had less than 200ZAR as per my "available balance".

I attempted to go online to obtain my transaction history to no avail as i was requested to go to an ATM to register for the service... whats the point of internet banking if an ATM is required and I was office bound that day and could not waste time in long queues at shopping malls.

I embraced my self for your call center... Got hold of a lovely lady who i advise of my concern. She looked into my transaction history and told me of the that i had pending transaction which i agreed to as i was well aware of them. At this point i do not understand the lag that your bank has when it comes to transactions done on my card, if i swipe it let it bill immediately than to present a "balance" i can not even use at all. I requested the consultant to send me my transaction history. She went ahead and did not advise of any charge.

I received the transaction history, did my investigation several times as i would not like to waste my time fighting for a mere amount. I still reached the same conclusion that funds were missing and that one of my so called pending amounts was a duplicate as that transaction appears on my transaction history going off my "available balance" and was still considered a pending amount off the so called remaining "balance" at the end of the transaction history.

Armed with my investigation i again prepared my self for your call center. Got hold of a Lady who i patently advised of my concern. i was expecting resistant but kept my cool and repeated myself several times using the apparent appropriate terminology that would avoid your consultant from getting confused. This only proved to be futile as she began to get impatient with me, changing her tone and being passive aggressive. I had the urge to become Irate but that would not help and just cause frustration. As your consultant saw i was decisive of my position and not will to accept her excuse she placed me ON HOLD. I use caps cause it took over 20 mins.

On her return to the call, she advised me that she was consulting with a senior agent who was willing to communicate with me. One would have assumed that during the wait the consultant would have looked into the query from a fresh prospective but that wasn't the case. The senior consultants rhetoric was a carbon copy of the last consultant i spoke to. I humbled myself and reiterated myself again and again. this eventually lead to the consultant kindly asking me to HOLD ON and i did. This took 30 mins...

The consultant returned back to me and verified that i was right, no apology given but i refrained from being petty. I requested the procedure that would be followed to resolve this accordingly and was sent your Cheque and Debit card Outstanding Authorisation Reversal Request form and advised that this would take up to "7 working days" to reverse this. Clearly no consideration given to the urgency i had to use the funds in order to book a flight to Capetown. holding myself back on a partial victory i filled in the forms and sent them back with my transaction history. The response email stated that i would receive feedback 5 working days later.

In order for me to get to Capetown i had to cash one of my business cheque's and the smallest was only 15000ZAR as my business account is held with your competitor as i have never had problems with them. Now i had to run the risk of holding large amounts of cash during a high risk season , but managed accordingly. My nephew asked me for funds he wanted to use during his weekend away at Nelspruit and due to the remaining amount on the card which was more than his request i gave it to him.

Out of an apparent balance of +-180ZAR he was only able to withdraw 100ZAR, i sent him an e-wallet i had prior received as he was also advised that the card had insufficient funds when attempting to swipe for about 30ZAR. Never the less he enjoyed his weekend and i managed to get to Capetown.

Up until today i have not received a call nor an email providing feedback on my query. I specifically asked my day job HR team to transfer my end of December bonus to my other bank as this would prevent me from monitoring my account accordingly.

Kindly response to the following questions When will my funds be "delivered" to my account? Why do i have a negative balance on my account and if i was charged for the transaction history i requested, why must i pay for doing your job? Will i be compensated for the duration i spent my own funds calling you Are you willing to fix the your lag in the billing of transactions that end up being called pending transactions. Can i please get my statements in English and not Afrikaans including when using the ATM and i request a slip, cause that too is in Afrikaans. Lastly can you also fix the lag we experience with getting notifications of in or out going transactions from our accounts.

I normally do not waste my time complaining for service i just vote with my feet, i am still to fathom why i have wasted 30 mins composing this complaint but i guess its because I'm looking forward to a great year.

Kindly advise accordingly to my experience and questions in order for us to move on and seize this year for the worth it beholds.

Regards and thanks in advance Mulondi Dzebu Jr email **********
