The perks of being FNB's "Young professionals".

Dear FNB

I would like to thank you for showering us, the "young professionals" as you have labelled us in your marketing campaigns, with your endless measures of promises, selling us dreams if we partner with FNB and for continuously reiterating the high value you place on us….

FNB has made extensive efforts to promote the high value they place on the young professionals of the generation, the future in which you wish to invest.

You come to varsities, work places and continuously sell us the dream and lavish benefits we will obtain from FNB : Platinum statuses (which by the way will open any and all doors for you, wherever you go), Credit Card facilities, Full access to slow lounges, not only one but a pool of private bankers fully committed to any queries or assistance we might have, 24 hour assistance. All and more with the minimum or no additional requirement.

And yet, I have sent a few emails to my personal pool of {24hour available} private bankers, yet with no reply. Even when my account has been frozen with no consent or prior warning.

Also, at a previous encounter, I was told I could not enter the slow lounge as it was full and the remaining seats were reserved for higher value customers. I made no issue of this as I assumed that day was extremely full and that this would be the exception.

To my dismay, after a disastrous experience at the airport and a 3 hour delay, I was very much looking forward to relax in the lavish benefit of the Slow lounge, whilst I wait for the next flight. When I got to the reception, I was met with the warm greeting “Ma’am are you a platinum account holder. We are quite full and we do not allow platinum holders”. This does start to sound quite fami****. (Dare I add, that there were still quite a few seats available, but the lovely receptionist were adamant that the lounge would not clear up for at least the next 4 hours)

Thankfully FNB has now upgraded this tune to accommodate the highly valued “Young professionals” and “Platinum account holder’s” disappointment and I was graciously offered a very thoughtful R50 Wimpy voucher to make amends for the new unspoken rules that FNB has seemed to implement to their highly valued platinum class.

I would like to kindly request, to please stop selling empty promises or make the necessary upgrades/ amendments to your facilities and services to fulfil them.
