The ***** Dept. at FNB (First National Bank)

I have been a FNB customer for nearly 50 years. My account was opened when the bank was called Barclays. Later it became FNB. In December 2023 I suffered a ****ming/***** attack on my FNB Credit card. The ****mers had all my details, including my full home address. They had even triangulated my cell phone location phone and knew I was in KZN and not at my home address in Gauteng. I tried calling the FNB ***** line twice in an effort to cancel my credit card. I let the call ring for more than 35 minutes before giving up. I eventually remembered I could cancel the card on my Internet banking profile, and I did so. The next day I went into a FNB branch close to where I was staying and physically reported the **** of my card. The lady then also phoned the FNB ***** line from the bank. It took her more than 10 minutes using their internal phone line to even get an answer from their ***** department. She too was very surprised and disappointed. Immediately after trying to **** my FNB account, the same ****mers attacked my Standard Bank credit card. Here too they had all my information. I immediately called the STD Bank ***** line, and they answered within seconds and the matter was resolved by a very caring call-center operative. The STD Bank ***** line is a toll-free number whereas the FNB Bank ***** line is not a free call and they used up (wasted) 35-40 minutes of my airtime. I am VERY disappointed with this service from FNB. So, if you ever get ****med and need to phone the FNB ***** line, don't expect any service but do expect to lose money and have a VERY long wait and a low airtime balance.
