The bank that cannot help

On Friday I visited the FNB branch in Kirkwood (EC). After standing in front of empty teller cubicles for the good part of 10 minutes, I went over to the Information Desk just to be told that the (only) teller is outside helping someone at the ATM. When the gentleman (?!) eventually arrived, he told me that I could not draw an amount less than R6000 from the tellers inside, and must use the ATM outside (I wanted change for a function as we are running a business). When I got outside, both ATM's were out of service. I went into the branch again to ask the teller if there was no other way that he could help me. He said that it was rules and policy that clients cannot withdraw any monies less than R6000 from the tellers EVEN if the ATM's are not working. As we live on a farm 16 km away from the FNB, I had to go to ABSA where they helped me with a smile.

Is it really policy to be, as a matter of fact, so useless or should I consider moving my accounts over to another banking institution?
