Thanks for the Judgement, FNB.

Last year, my partner opened a FNB connect contract. We attempted to have his number ported from Vodacom to FNB connect, but after WEEKS of calls, in-branch visits and complaints, the number would not work consistently. There was a day or two that it worked for an hour, at most. We cancelled the contract (at the Somerset West branch) and tried to port the number back to Vodacom, but they were unable to, so he lost a number that he had been using for about 5 years.

I won't go on about the headache the loss of the number caused (he was looking for work at the time - that number was on all the CV's). We got him a new Vodacom number...but...for some inexplicable reason FNB has been deducting the amount of about R106, every month, for the past 10 months. In the beginning we would go in to a branch, explain the situation and would be reassured that it would not happen again. Understandably, we got tired of this monthly ritual and just started reversing the debit order citing that he had previously cancelled the order...every...single...month.

Last month he received a call from a lady asking when he was planning to pay his account. He explained the situation and she promised to get back to him. Do you think she did?

He app**** for an account this morning and received a friendly call from the company stating that he has a judgement against his name.

I'm a patient person, but this is beyond ridiculous. I wish that I could go back in time and get the names and numbers of every single person who has "handled" this matter. It would be a list of about 25 people, but I would like to ask all of them what happened here? What could possibly lead to something this simple going so horribly wrong?

I'm writing this even though we're going in to a branch tomorrow, because with the progress we've seen, what are the chances of tomorrow being any different?

So, FNB, please let us know; "how can WE help you?"
