Terrible service

On the 18th March 2017 I went to the FNB, Main street branch. I requested to close my share saver account. The gentleman who assisted me told me that would take about 7 working days. On the 1st of April, I went back to enquire why this was taking long. To which I was innformed that nothing had been processed on my account. The lady then assured me that she will send a request to the appropriate department in order to action. Again on the 8th I went back to the bank and the lady apologised that she had actually forgotten to process the request.

I got another apology and was promised that this will be sorted. My issue is, this money I wanted to pay off my credit card. In the meantime I am being charged interest on the credit card, which I would have paid if my funds were realesed. An apology that cost me money does not help me at all. FNB needs to take accountability. I feel I am being punished for someone else's incompetence (FNB incompetence). It will only make sence to have the interst charges on my account reversed as FNB itself is responsible for me not paying off my credit card.
