Terrible loan department

Tuesday, 2 May I go the branch do to an application for a student loan. Very helpful consultant. She takes me through the whole process, changes my physical address, answers all my questions and makes me feel at ease. Right then and there the loan was approved and the friendly consultant uploaded all the required documents (Proof of registration, breakdown of study cost, proof of residence, ID, ID copy). I leave satisfied with the level of service and the whole hearted belief that FNB is the leading bank in South Africa.

Fast forward three weeks. Monday, 22 May I still have not received any form of payment, the academic institute indicates that my account is in arrears. I log a call with the premier banking consultants and wait. By Tuesday, 23 May over lunchtime I decide to phone them personally to resolve the issue. Side note, during the three week wait they sent me an email requesting the proof of residence, which I scanned and sent to ********** This was already scanned and submitted during my visit to the branch.

Tuesday I speak to the premier banking consultant and they inform me that the breakdown of my study cost are outstanding. I oblige them by scanning the document in once again and sending it to ********** The Premier banker phones me and informs me that loans department will be in contact before business ends to conclude everything and payment will be made within 24 hours.

Wednesday morning I wake up to an sms informing me that I should visit a branch to confirm the personal details of my contract, which is then followed closely by an sms informing me that I need to send proof of registration, breakdown of study cost, proof of residence, ID, ID copy to ********** I get to work and phone the premium banking consultants again and then proceed to tell the whole time line. Tumi (the consultant) then takes it upon herself to personally phone the loans department and find out what is wrong.

The friendly consultant phones me back to inform me that she could not ascertain a reason for the delay and that the loans consultant was extremely rude. All she could deduce was that my contract is still outstanding. I have never received any contract and I have never been sent an email from the loans department with my contract.

Thursday morning and I have muster up enough patients to phone the premium banking consultant again. Paulina then proceeds to try and connect to the loans department. No answer so she logs a request for the contract to be sent to me for my PERSONAL LOAN???

I did not submit a request for personal loan?

Do any of you even know what you are doing? Are there any competent people employed in the loans department?

Get to the bottom of this!
