TERRIBLE FNB CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
FNB suspended my three accounts on the 22nd of June 2019.After making several phone calls, they finally send me a letter saying they have decided to exercise their right to terminate the banking relationship with me and i should provide alternative banking details where they can transfer the balances within my accounts.
On the 25th of June i then send an email instructing them to transfer the balances within my personal account to the credit card account which i was owing them as they had said it should be paid off.I did not receive any response on that matter until the 2nd of July after i made a follow up,only to get a response for a certain Pammy Marimuthu that they cannot action that but instead i should provide them with alternative banking details.
On the third of July,i provided the alternative banking details, only to receive an email back asking if they can offset my credit card balance.I do not know if it was then making sense to them(Pammy Marimuthu incl) to offset now that i have provided banking details.Anyway i then authorised them to offset the accounts.I did not receive any acknowledgement on this regard until i sent a follow up email on the 8th of July 2019,only to be told that the process of offset involves multiple departments hence it takes 72 working hours.
On the same day(8th of July 2019),i sent banking details for the business accounts which were also closed, and i did not receive any acknowledgement of receipt or anything.I called the number of the lady who had given the instruction for the account closure(Susan) and i was told she will call me back in five minutes, only to receive the same termination letter which was sent to me in June via email.I then tried to call back on the same number which was now going to voicemail.
The following day on the 9th of July,i sent an email again(as this was the only communication channel available for me to get answers) following up on my email sent the previous day and i received feedback that the request is being processed.I waited from Tuesday the 9th until the following Monday the 15th when i called Susan to find out what the progress was on the cases. She then sent an email (cc me) and attached the references of the call recordings of the conversation i heard with here asking for update on the cases.
Again,no response was given to me as to what is happenning on the cases. The following day(Tuesday 16th),then i saw there was movement on my personal account settling the credit card, but nothing on the business account.I waited hoping that i might get update on the business account but nothing.I have sent a follow up email today(Thursday 18th July 2019) which has not been responded to again, which has become the norm for me.
The most ANNOYING part from all this terrible experience is: 1.They froze the accounts on the 22nd of June 2019, 2.I gave an instruction to offset accounts on the 25th of June, Yet they kept on charging interest on the credit card and monthly account fees for accounts i do not have access to.
Above all, they tell me that the turn around time is 72 business hours, for something which i could have done within one day had they opened the accounts and i process these transactions,SO MUCH ABOUT HOW CAN WE HELP YOU.
